Description[]

The Altair is a sturdy, reliable racing vehicle that can seat both a driver and a single passenger. As stated in the description, the Altair boasts statistics that allow it to give the Aurora a run for its money.

Sean first encounters the Altair during the prologue, where several unnamed drivers attend the Saarbrücken Grand Prix in the vehicle. Following the prologue, it is likely that Sean will soon acquire an Altair of his own, provided the player unlocks the first Mechanic perk, known as "Joy Rider". This requires the theft of 5 civilian vehicles, which is a substantially straightforward task. The vehicle will then be permanently added to Sean's garage ready to use as he pleases.

However, an unmanned Altair can always be found at the Saarbrücken race track in the pits area, along with several other racing vehicles.

Trivia:[]

  • The Altair is based on the Allard J2X.
  • The name of the car is a direct reference to the Assassin's Creed series, named after the protagonist Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.
    • Additionally, Altaïr's name derives from the Arabic for "The Flying Eagle", which is referred to as the nickname for the racing car in The Saboteur.
  • Most cars in the game have a rare color that it can be randomly spawned with. The Altair's main color is a dark green, but with some luck the player can get a bright red Altair.
  • The decision for the name belongs to none other than American videogame designer and Nazi history buff Peter Goudanis who chose it because the game to him felt like 'a direct cross between Assassin's Creed and Grand Theft Auto, the perfect combination'.
